Author Daniel O'Connell forward of the series is stated here saying “Looking out to see the world. I look out and see the world as my children will one day see it. It is a world of possibilities of unknown adventures and trials, but as I look at my Children’s future, I see something is missing. A hero of his or her own Culture. My children are half-American half-Filipino. I look at the images of similar children and see them dressing up like Japanese anime heroes or American movie or comic heroes, and I ask myself, where are the heroes for my daughter or Son? Where is their heroes? I know the Philippines has its own heroes, but they are not known in the same way as other countries heroes. Look at your children's Facebook pages and see what they call heroes. I am an American married to a wonderful Filipina and I have come to love the culture she is from and I want my children to have a hero that represents their culture. This is not a complaint without an answer. This is a prelude to my answer. I have created a hero for my children. A hero that represents their culture, and I want it to be internationally known. I spent a great deal of time and effort in crafting this epic tale that covers 5000 years in 9 books about a Filipino's family sacrifice in saving the world. With not just powers and weapons, but with what makes Filipino's great. The love of Family and friends. Sacrifice to help another by putting the needs of the many before the needs of him or herself.” The first book in the series is titled Paladin, which centers on the origin of this epic series, and introduces us to the characters, Caleb Ocoda the main protagonist of this book.
