To My Reader: Ever since finishing Dark Deception, I’ve wanted to write Javier and Catherine’s story. Javier is a stubborn vampire, and when he finds Catherine posing as a sex slave in the court of the fey king, he has trouble reconciling the gentle senator of his memories with the strong, sexual woman she has become. How he comes to terms with Catherine’s new independence, and how Catherine forgives and learns to accept Javier’s faults, are the basis for this story. I hope you enjoy it!
