If the lights go out forever, can love survive? When four women from different walks of life are brought together by fate to witness the end of the world as they know it, each must find a way to survive against the odds as well as learn to rely on each other. Jackie Scott wields incredible influence as a magazine executive in Seattle. As she plans a smashing party for her fortieth birthday, everything is precisely as she wants it. But when a solar storm lights up the night sky in a dazzling display, it not only ruins the party but destroys power around the planet and Jackie must turn for help from the one woman she has tried so hard not to want … Taylor. Taylor Barnes is an Army veteran new to Seattle and wants nothing more than to find some peace and quiet working as a rent-a-cop in a corporate high-rise. When she is asked to attend the birthday party of the building's powerful and sexy CEO, she can hardly say no. Little did she realize every skill she ever learned would be put to the test to save the woman she can't seem to stop thinking about … Jackie. Anna Patten is a nurse practitioner who has returned one last time to the town she ran away from to pack up the house where she grew up. Trying to avoid any drama, she cannot get away fast enough, or so she tells herself while her heart wonders about her high school crush. When fate lands them together in Seattle at a birthday party, suddenly Anna must lean on the woman she once left behind … Lexi. Lexi Scott has built a simple life of writing novels and remodeling her farmhouse, but when she runs into a long-lost friend, her world is turned upside down. It's not until she attends her sister Jackie's birthday party that she is forced to not only face the apocalypse but now she must decide if she is willing to risk her heart again to save the only woman she ever loved ... Anna. The end of the world is only the beginning. If you like a story with romance and adventure, mixed with conflict and heroism, then you will love KC Luck’s page-turning new book. Note: This is a full-length, stand-alone novel with a science fiction/end-of-the-world theme, but is significantly more focused on strong female characters in a loving lesbian relationship.

Wind Dancer

2021

If the lights go out forever, can love survive? Darkness still prevails throughout the world but in Astoria, Chief of Police Taylor Barnes has everything under control. There is only one more thing she wants to do—marry the always challenging Jackie Scott. Unfortunately, the universe seems to be conspiring against her when a caravan of travelers led by a sexy and mysterious woman named Rosella Cane arrives and pirates start attacking cities along the Oregon coast. Facing the threat of pirates, Major Grace Hamilton must call on the help of the Wind Dancer to chase them down. As much as she hates putting the ship and crew in danger, the outlaws must be brought to justice. The other obstacle is working with the ship’s fiery captain, Meg O’Grady. Close friends, but nothing more, Grace longs for a time she can confess her love but won’t because she knows she will never be enough to make Meg happy. Doing whatever it takes to get by in the aftermath of the catastrophic solar storm responsible for knocking out power around the globe, Cyd Elliott survives by keeping her life simple. It is not an easy task in the ravaged metropolis of San Francisco, but her needs are few until she hears a scream in the distance. Naomi Andrews was the ‘it’ girl. Hollywood could not get enough of her and the movie she starred in was a blockbuster. Everything had been perfect in her life until that night in April when all the lights went out and stayed out. Trapped in San Francisco for months, Naomi can’t take life anymore but when she goes to the Golden Gate Bridge to jump off, she meets someone who changes her mind. If you like a story with romance and adventure, mixed with conflict and heroism, then you will love KC Luck’s page-turning new book. This is a full-length novel, which can be read as a stand-alone book, however, it is closely tied to the previous three stories “Darkness Falls,” “Darkness Remains,” and “Darkness United.” These books have an end-of-the-world/dystopian theme but are significantly more focused on strong female characters in loving sapphic relationships.

Darkness San Francisco

2022

The novella, Darkness San Francisco, takes place in a world with no power. The world lost all electricity after a solar storm destroyed grids around the globe. Four full-length adventure romance novels were written in that post-apocalypse dystopian setting (the Darkness Series). They detail the trials and tribulations of a group of strong lesbians who must endure together to not only survive but thrive. Settling in the small town of Astoria, Oregon, they face many external and internal challenges, but in the fourth novel, Wind Dancer, a new evil emerges—a pirate king named Captain Poissoit who is pillaging the west coast. Reading the books in the order they were written is strongly recommended: Darkness Falls, Darkness Remains, Darkness United, and Wind Dancer. Although each is a complete story, they are much more enjoyable as the reader gets to know the cast of characters as they appear in the series. In Darkness San Francisco, two main characters from the series, US Army Major Grace Hamilton and her partner, Ship Captain Meg O’Grady, set sail from Astoria to track down the pirate king and bring him to justice. They will chase the outlaw on their ship, Wind Dancer, to his lair in San Francisco, if necessary, to capture him. The Darkness San Francisco novella focuses solely on their adventure. Although much still happens in the city of Astoria, none of the lives of the women there are included in this book. Their stories are set aside for another day.
