Darlene A. Sousa, PhD is a first-generation Azorean American. In addition to academic work in Organizational Psychology and Transpersonal Psychology, she is completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Darlene is a practising Mental Health Counselor, researcher and participates in a number of professional organizations. Her current interests are in the Crypto-Jews of the Azores and Portugal, Advocacy for Special Needs Students within the School System, Infant Mental Health, and expanding the applications of Energy Psychology particularly to underrepresented social groups as a means of crossing the barriers of language, stigma, and poverty in mental health services.
