David Allen Hounshell is the David M. Roderick Professor of Technology and Social Change in the Department of Social and Decision Sciences, Department of History, and the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. He earned his B.S. in electrical engineering at Southern Methodist University in 1971 and his M.S. (1975) and Ph.D. (1978) at the University of Delaware.
