"The novel was a pleasure to read." - Jeff Westerhoff, Historical Novel Society "This book is historically accurate and it will be a popular book for young people..." - Albany Times-Union I was born in 1967 - putting me into the old, but not ancient category. I graduated from high school in Dutchess county, NY and then embarked on a tour of some of the finest universities in NY that were in my price range. Graduation included a degree in history and secondary education which, naturally, became a career in teaching social studies. I've been at it for over 30 years now and the last 10 have seen various roles in our teacher's union from building representative to union president. While I also have a degree in reading, I never really would have guessed that writing a book for others to read would have been in my future. Writing with Dave Ossont was a true pleasure. We are often asked if it was hard to write a book with two authors, two ideas, two visions, etc. I always say no - and I really mean it when I say it. I can't imagine having done it any other way. My family keeps me going, as trite as that may sound to you. Pretty much all that I do, I do for them. I'd never want to let them down.
