An honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Navy, Horton used the G.I. Bill to graduate from Cal State Northridge. He has been a sailor, bartender, insurance investigator, and entrepreneur. He Has written numerous movie reviews for IMDB, and a pictorial travel book Small Towns, Country Roads and Autumn Leaves as well as the mystery thriller The Swamp Witch. He lives with his partner Gina and four cats in Tujunga, California.
