For as long as I can remember, I've always wanted to be an artist. Sketching was the only way I knew how to bring my daydreams inside-out. In college I discovered design and knew I had a perfect match. I love the idea of taking color, images and information and providing a clean, simple solution. Mostly, I enjoy creating the images. I received my B.F.A. at Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Following graduation, I moved to Vail, Colorado where I have worked locally as a Graphic/Editorial Designer and Illustrator at newspapers, print companies, and Not-for-profit organizations. Currently, I am a freelance graphic designer and illustrator for the children's market. Illustrator Dawn Beacon lives with her husband and son in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. During the winter months she loves snowboarding with her family at their local resorts, while summertime finds her biking and gardening. Inspiration for her artwork is found directly out her back door with the abundance of wildlife and breathtaking views of the Vail Valley.
