Part of Series
DC's Star Trek comics featuring the crew of the original series' crew continue with the return of an old foe. Veteran writer Tony Isabella debuted in the series by bringing back Redjac, the murderous entity from Wolf in the Fold. As Redjac terrorises Kirk and his crew, a few comics-only characters, such as Konom and Nancy Bryce, step into the spotlight to save their friends and colleagues. Other stories in the collection feature novelist Diane Duane with a story of a first contact gone wrong, and writer Bob Rozakis with a character study on Spock as the captain of the U.S.S. Surak.

Diane Duane has been a writer of science fiction, fantasy, TV and film for more than forty years. She has spent a fair amount of time on the New York Times Bestseller List, and has picked up various awards and award nominations here and there. She lives in County Wicklow, in Ireland, with her husband of more than thirty years, the screenwriter and novelist Peter Morwood. Her favorite color is blue, her favorite food is a weird kind of Swiss scrambled-potato dish called maluns, she was born in a Year of the Dragon, and her sign is "Runway 24 Left, Hold For Clearance."
