After the sudden death of her parents, Dixie thought the worst was behind her until two military men came knocking on her door saying her brother had been killed in action, then her world was once again turned on its axis. Charlie was not only her big brother, he was her best friend and sidekick. An unbreakable bond like theirs was hard to replace. To help mend her broken heart, her therapist suggests she sign up as a volunteer to write letters to wounded veterans. When she gets a random reply, like a thief in the night, everything changes. When Charlie’s best friend and army veteran, Zane Carson, agreed to participate in a program to receive letters from home, his expectations weren’t high. He certainly never expected a letter from his best friend’s little sister’s to fall into his lap. Always looking at Dixie from afar, he was always afraid to let his feelings be known, especially around Charlie. One letter could lead to a million opportunities. But will Zane let those opportunities just fly by? Two broken souls, one written letter, an adventure neither were prepared for

J.L. Baldwin fell in love with writing when she wrote her first short story in the sixth grade. After that, she never saw herself doing anything else. Except maybe become an astronaut, but that required way too much math! While she loves writing all sub-genres of romance, her favorites tend to be small-town romances, steamy contemporary romances, dark romance, and romantic suspense with anti-heroes you can't help but hate to love. She also has been known to write some paranormal romance and sci-fi stories in her time. She resides in the mountains of Virginia where she spends her days writing, reading, and dreaming of walking around the Disney theme parks or laying on a sunny beach in Florida where she will someday call home.
