Deepak Sridhar was born in and has spent most of his life in Bangalore. He began writing in earnest while unemployed during the pandemic and ‘Home for the Halli Days’ is his first book. Before this, he had only done this much writing while studying the law at National Law School Bangalore. Since then he has just been accumulating comedic material with stints as a corporate lawyer, Biryani delivery boy and full time Bangalore bar uncle. ‘Home for the Halli Days’ is a compilation of one year of his newsletters capturing the pandemic with a perspective that is unique, much like his record of running through a new Hindi Tuition teacher every year for 5 years. When he is not writing, Deepak spends most of his time watching bad movies in four languages, speaking gibberish to his daughter or smashing Benne Masala dosas with his significantly better half. Although his permanent address is in the heart of South Bangalore, Deepak currently resides in limbo, with his beautiful family.
