Too many times. Too much careless gambling. I’ve heard it all before. No one has ever held true to their word, but I think this one might. The confidence in her tone when she doesn’t know that I’m listening gives me hope. But it makes me wonder too. Does she mean what she says? It doesn’t matter. I’ll do my best to study her from afar before I get to know her. Then I’ll lay down the wager, and if she accepts, I’ll force her to see it through. This one is mine.
