He made a promise he couldn’t break. She has a power she never knew existed. Belshegar isn't supposed to interact with humans. But after he’s caught attending his friend Elena’s wedding in human form, his punishment is return to the mortal plane as “Bill Garrett” and retrieve several powerful artifacts from the McAllister witch clan—or face consequences beyond imagining. Brianna McAllister has always been the odd witch out. Her scattered magic has earned her the nickname “Swiss Army knife witch” from her clan, useful but never exceptional. Between working at an art gallery in Jerome and performing at local wine rooms, she's made peace with her limitations. Until a green-eyed stranger walks into her life and awakens something extraordinary. Their attraction is immediate and impossible to ignore. But as Belshegar’s mission forces him deeper into deception, an attack from another dimension reveals the truth—Brianna is a harmonic, capable of balancing energies across worlds, a power not seen in generations. When a being known only as the Collector comes for the artifacts and covets Brianna’s rare talent, she must quickly master abilities she barely understands. With dimensions colliding and Jerome’s safety at stake, Belshegar faces an unbearable choice between duty and a love he never expected to find. Together, they’ll discover that some bonds transcend both worlds and punishment alike.
Author

A native of Southern California, Christine Pope has been writing stories ever since she commandeered her family’s Smith-Corona typewriter back in the sixth grade. Many reams of dead trees later, she’s happy to announce that her debut novel, Fringe Benefits, was published by Pink Petal Books on April 8, 2010. Her short fiction has appeared in Astonishing Adventures, Luna Station Quarterly, and the new journal of dark fiction, Dark Valentine. Her paranormal novella, Playing With Fire, was released on August 5, 2010. While Fringe Benefits is a straight contemporary romance, she writes in a variety of genres, including paranormal romance, fantasy, horror, science fiction, and historical romance. She blames this on being easily distracted by bright, shiny objects, which could also account for the size of her shoe collection. After spending many years in the magazine publishing industry, she now works as a freelance editor in addition to writing fiction. She lives with her husband and an explosively fluffy Pomeranian mix. Her house is pink, but don’t hold that against her.
