Desiree Ultican loves history and mysterious circumstances. She is a graphic designer by trade, a collector of paper ephemera by inclination and an author by desire and determination. She had some short stories published several years ago. One was picked up by the PEN Syndicated Fiction Project and another won a Missouri fiction prize and she recorded it for National Public Radio. She continued to write furtively but went dormant trying to get published—until recently. Her most recent published stories include “Be Here Now” on PrometheusDreaming.com, an online cultural magazine, and "The Night Traveler" on the Ariel Chart blog. She keeps company with cats and her husband Jim in an old, comfy house with a big front porch.
