The funny thing about the future is that it is never in your grasp. It is always something just out of reach. If I had thought I would have a moment of happily-ever-after, that thought was destroyed within minutes of trying to reach for it. I was a pawn in everyone’s plans. I wasn’t sure which direction I should trust. I just found out my mom isn’t my mom, and my best friend is a Demon Hunter. The Unseelie wanted me for something. The Gods seemed to have their own plan for my future as well. The Fae Warriors say they want to protect me. That they want to keep me safe but are they pawns in this game too? On top of all of that, I've just been summoned by the Royal Fae Rulers of the Realm. And they expect me to compete in a competition to become the Fifth Protector. They can't find out what or who I am, or I will be killed. How did I get to this point? How do I survive all of this?
