Stolen

2018

Her mind tells her to run. Her body begs her to stay. Her heart must make the choice. After months spent eluding the djinn who’s been tracking her, Leila Donovan is cornered. With nowhere left to run, she braces herself to be picked off just like the rest of her companions who survived the Heat, a djinn-inflicted virus meant to wipe out mankind. Instead, her dark-haired, night-eyed captor bestows a fiery, bone-melting kiss—and whisks her away to an opulent beach house in Malibu. Unknown to Leila, Malik al-Mazin has been protecting her. From the Heat, from the assassins pursuing its survivors, and, most of all, from the predations of Omar al-Tariq, a sadistic djinn who revels in inflicting pain. Once Leila comes to accept Malik as her Chosen, she will be safe. But despite their riptide-strong sexual chemistry, easing her into trust will take precious time, especially since she has the unusual ability to resist any attempt to magically influence her mind—a gift that may be her only hope when Malik is tricked into turning his back for one crucial moment…

Forgotten

2018

Is the Heat a deadly fever…or a fiery desire that could save them both? Deirdre Graves got lucky. When the Heat, a djinn-created virus, wiped out most of humanity, she was isolated at her university’s wildlife research station high in the mountains. Safe...for the moment. But with winter closing in and her choices narrowing down to freezing or starving, she builds a device that could save her life. Trouble is, the only way to find out if it works is to leave her sanctuary and face the djinn. One moment, Amaal al-Tariq is exploring his newly acquired mountain lands—or, more accurately, his place of exile. The next, he’s flat on his face, trapped by one delicate human woman carrying a device capable of rendering him helpless. Regaining what is most precious to him—his freedom—means gaining Deirdre’s trust. If that means using the attraction simmering between them to his advantage, so be it. He just never expected her courage and compassion to reach the one thing he’s kept to himself for so long...his heart.

Driven

2018

To win this race, he’ll have to do more than hug the corners… More than six months after the Heat wiped out most of humanity, Bailey O’Keefe keeps her bug-out bag packed and her “salvaged” Porsche 911 ready to outrun the djinn reavers. She figures eventually she’ll wind up dead. Until then? Her car’s dust cloud is a giant middle finger to Earth’s new overlords. Until one day a red Ferrari appears in her rearview mirror, driven by the one djinn who refuses to give up and look for easier prey. Nasim al-Jibril isn’t out for anyone’s blood. The thrill of the chase has drawn him from his too-quiet Napa Valley vineyards to L.A.’s empty concrete canyons. But it’s not victory flooding his veins when Bailey rolls her Porsche while trying to shake off his pursuit—it’s guilt for causing her harm. Alone in Nasim’s L.A. loft, Bailey’s bones heal, caution gives way to growing attraction…and Nasim realizes she’s the choice of his heart. But this wild, freedom-loving woman deserves one last chance to race for her independence—best two out of three.

A native of Southern California, Christine Pope has been writing stories ever since she commandeered her family’s Smith-Corona typewriter back in the sixth grade. Many reams of dead trees later, she’s happy to announce that her debut novel, Fringe Benefits, was published by Pink Petal Books on April 8, 2010. Her short fiction has appeared in Astonishing Adventures, Luna Station Quarterly, and the new journal of dark fiction, Dark Valentine. Her paranormal novella, Playing With Fire, was released on August 5, 2010. While Fringe Benefits is a straight contemporary romance, she writes in a variety of genres, including paranormal romance, fantasy, horror, science fiction, and historical romance. She blames this on being easily distracted by bright, shiny objects, which could also account for the size of her shoe collection. After spending many years in the magazine publishing industry, she now works as a freelance editor in addition to writing fiction. She lives with her husband and an explosively fluffy Pomeranian mix. Her house is pink, but don’t hold that against her.
