Jennifer Lewis
Jennifer Lewis
Author · 32 books

Jennifer Lewis is the USA Today bestselling author of more than thirty books, which have been translated into more than twenty languages. "I’ve been making up stories since the day I was born. I always loved to draw as well as write and as a child I drew graphic novellas featuring penniless but plucky Cinderella heroines. My love of daydreaming earned me the nickname “Dozy Duck” in Kindergarten, and I still consider staring into space to be a constructive activity. I was born in Manhattan but my family moved to London when I was six months old, toting me along in a cat basket. I grew up as a Brit and traveled extensively in Europe during my only-slightly-misspent formative years. I came back to the States to earn a bachelor’s degree in Semiotics from Brown University and begin a journey into the world of trans-Atlantic accents that I have still not fully emerged from. On graduation I returned to New York, where I learned to explain Semiotics on job interviews (“It’s the study of signs and systems of meaning!”) and to apply my knowledge in a very enjoyable career at a television museum. While organizing exhibits on subjects ranging from Elvis Presley to Monty Python, I began to experiment with writing my own stories. It was quite a revelation to discover that the tales I’d been dreaming up forever could actually be turned into books. After a couple of detours—my son and my daughter—I focused all my creative energy on writing and my first book came out from Silhouette Desire in 2007. I live in South Florida with my family, which includes an adorable greyhound and four horses. USA Today bestselling author, Sadie Haller, lives in the little blue house by the sea with one husband, two dogs, three cats, and six hens (they actually live in a littler red house out the back). Cate Rowan
Cate Rowan
Author · 8 books

USA Today bestseller Cate Rowan writes novels of magic and royal romance set in fantasy kingdoms (and queendoms!) near and far. She has washed laundry in a crocodile-infested African lake, parasailed over a Mexican beach, and had Costa Rican monkeys poop in her hair, but her favorite adventures are story worlds. Her creative, out-of-the-box tales of heroic odysseys and true love have won more than thirty awards. These days she lives in the wild Rocky Mountains with her husband, their rescued feline fur-children, and a horse suitably nicknamed Stinkerbelle.

Cate Dean has been writing since she could hold a pen in her hand and put more than two words together on paper. Sophie Avett
Sophie Avett
Author · 7 books

Sophie Avett is kind of a nerd. Like not even one of the cute, hip ones everyone brags about nowadays. More like the socially awkward hippie who eats way too much bread and dreams about being a dragon from behind towers of mythology books. Um...yeah. Picture old, tattered paperbacks and comic books—mostly Batman and Wonder Woman—dwarfing a tiny desk, with just barely enough room for the troll who writes there and the 70 pound hell-hound that insists of laying it's wet nose on top of her bare foot. Granted not the most exciting existence, but she tries to make up for it by writing romances populated with her own peculiar ilk of paranormal beasties. Trolls, wyverns, the obscure Nordic brownie—she likes to keep things interesting. And bloody. (And mostly naked—but, we'll keep that bit between us.) Sophie Avett loves to hear from her readers. (Hi, mom.) DISCLAIMER: I write fantasy. I buy reference books. Therefore, I review reference books. I will NEVER review a fiction book as Sophie Avett. Such things are frowned upon. Also, I try to be as helpful and as accurate as possible with reference book reviews because they really are an expensive investment. So, NO—I don't know those people. Nor did they ask me to review for them. I'm just tryna help another reader/author out with info. :)

Lyra Marlowe
Lyra Marlowe

Lyra Marlowe has been writing since – well, since she learned to write. Her very first book was selected to be read at the Young Author’s Conference for elementary school students. They told her she could write, and she’s never stopped. Her first erotic romance, "Thirteen Silver Moons", was published in December of 2007. At the same time, a sweet fantasy story, "Solstice Night", was also released in an anthology. "The Flavor of Summer" was her first fictional foray into the world of BDSM; "First Taste" is a follow-up story to "Flavor". "Ghosts in the Graveyard" is her first New Adult Paranormal novel. Lyra has lived on the shores of Lake Erie all her life, but dreams of a land where it never snows. She and her husband have three children, two insolent cats and a good-natured mutt. They share a 110-year old Victorian home with a gentle grandmother ghost who loves babies but hates painted woodwork and the color purple.

Jennifer Blackstream
Jennifer Blackstream
Author · 38 books

Jennifer Blackstream is a USA Today bestselling author of urban fantasy and paranormal romance. She is amazed and grateful to have made a writing career out of a Master’s degree in Psychology, hours of couch-detecting watching Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries, and endless research into mythology and fairy tales. A fervent devotee of cooperative board games, Jennifer sets aside at least two nights a week for team-based adventures such as Mice & Mystics, Sentinels of the Multiverse, or Harry Potter: Battle at Hogwarts. Sela Carsen
Sela Carsen
Author · 11 books

Short version: Sela Carsen is an award-winning author of paranormal and sci-fi romance—with or without sex and dead bodies. Your pick. She maintains a permanent nerd-on for fairytales and mythology, and openly hoards reference books about obscure folklore. Born a wanderer, she and her family have finally settled in the Midwest. Until they move again, at least. Long and rambly, but funnier version: In addition to writing, I’m a wife to a Darn Near Perfect Husband and mom to Two Great Kids. They used to be the Monkey children, but they seem to have settled down a bit. (That’s going to come back and bite me on the butt as soon as you read this!) I have a BA in French (utterly useless, but fun at parties) and another BA in Communication. While I was getting the Communication degree, I wrote for my alumni magazine, dipped my feet into advertising, took want ads at the local paper and even wrote obituaries. I was also a reporter at a small-town daily, but soon realized I didn’t have a true journalist’s instinct. After that, I was busy being married and having children, but when my youngest was about a year and half old, I was standing in the shower when a scene popped into my head. Why does that always happen when you’re in the shower and you can’t get a pen and paper? Anyway, I got the soap out of my eyes, dried off and headed straight for the computer where I wrote it all down. And boy, did it stink. Whew! I’d been reading romance novels for years so I figured I should be able to write one, right? Are you done laughing? Let me know when you’re finished. Ok, then. It took about twenty false starts and a work I now call The-Regency-That-Wouldn’t-Die before I finally got disgusted with myself and started writing this funny little scene in a Louisiana cemetery. That little scene became Not Quite Dead and it’s the first manuscript I ever finished. After much angst and rewriting on my part, I eventually sold it to Samhain Publishing, who released it in August 2006. Since then, I’ve placed several other stories, but that first one will always be special to me. I’m a member of Romance Writers Of America and can usually be found at the bar during national conferences.
