Suatu malam, Nobita bermimpi melihat seorang bocah dan sesosok mahluk menyerupai kelinci sedang tersesat. Sepertinya mereka berasal dari luar angkasa. Cerita dalam komik ini mengandung materi yang diperuntukan untuk pembaca remaja. Tidak dianjurkan untuk dibaca anak-anak di bawah umur. Doraemon merupakan judul dari sebuah manga dan anime yang sangat populer yang dikarang oleh Fujiko F. Fujio sejak 1 Juni 1969 dan berkisah tentang kehidupan seorang anak pemalas kelas 5 sekolah dasar yang bernama Nobita Nobi yang tiba-tiba didatangi oleh sebuah robot kucing bernama Doraemon yang datang dari abad ke-22. Doraemon dikirim untuk menolong Nobita agar keturunan Nobita dapat menikmati kesuksesannya daripada harus menderita dari utang finansial yang akan terjadi pada masa depan yang disebabkan karena kebodohan Nobita. Doraemon memiliki sebuah Kantong Ajaib (Kantong Empat Dimensi) yang berisi alat-alat ajaib dari masa depan. Seringkali Nobita datang merengek-rengek meminta bantuan alat tersebut karena masalah di sekolah atau di lingkungannya, setelah memohon atau memaksa, Doraemon mau tidak mau akan mengeluarkan sebuah alat yang membantu Nobita menyelesaikan masalah, membalas dendam, atau hanya sekadar pamer ke teman-temannya. Nobita biasanya bertindak terlalu gegabah, mengacuhkan saran atau perintah Doraemon. Akhirnya, tak jarang Nobita terjerumus ke masalah yang lebih dalam. Terkadang, teman Nobita (biasanya Suneo dan Giant) mencuri alat tersebut dan berakhir dalam kekacauan karena salah menggunakannya. Nobita ingin mencarikan tempat tinggal untuk kucing dan anjing yang dibuang pemiliknya. Berkat bantuan Doraemon, ditemukanlah tempat yang cukup aman. Tapi, kemudian para anjing dan kucing mengalami evolusi yang sangat pesat!
