Doris Ervin is a poet/storyteller who calls both Colorado and New Mexico home and the landscapes of each can be seen in her poetry. She resides in Denver, CO. Her first collection of poetry, Spirit Within and Other Poems, is an accumulation of poems that mark 'moments in time.' They first appeared as a chapbook and later expanded in her first book. After the election of 2016, political poetry became a means for Doris to understand and comment on this historic election. Her second collection of poetry, 2016 Political Poems, was published on Inauguration Day, 2017 as a paperback and is now also available as an audiobook and a Kindle eBook on Amazon.com. Doris writes poetry, first, as a means of expression and, second, as an attempt to understand that which seems to be inexplicable. Sometimes it actually works!
