E. M. Foster was born a military brat and has lived all over the world, but mostly in the south. His undergraduate and graduate degrees are from Arkansas. Raised in rural Georgia and Arkansas, he spent the majority of his childhood reading science fiction and fantasy novels until discovering the works of Ernest Hemingway. When not writing, he is a retired military officer, attorney (JAG), musician and amateur sailor. He is married to his beautiful wife and editor, Terri, and they are the parents of three wonderful daughters and one incredibly intelligent Pomeranian. He currently resides in Florida.
