Eric William Heaton was Fellow and Lecturer in Theology and Chaplain, St. John's College, Oxford. After reading English and Theology at Cambridge University, and a period of war service in the Army, he was ordained. In addition to a busy life as Examining Chaplain to the Bishops of Salisbury, Portsmouth, Norwich, and Wakefield, he has written several books in the Old Testament field.
