Ed Pipkin was born in Georgia and grew up in the south. While earning his Bachelors in Journalism from Florida State University in Tallahassee, fate or other omnipotent force stepped in and he changed his major to a science field. Thanks to an astute professor and mentor, Ed went on to complete his Bachelors and Masters in Physics from FSU. Before becoming the author of the Cadet Magnum Series, Ed worked with the U.S. Navy as a scientist at the Naval Base in Panama City, Florida, where he studied, tested, and developed products to protect navy ships from mines. He is an expert in the field of underwater acoustics. The Magnum Cadet series began as a fiction series focusing on a genuine interest in robotics. The interest is still there but the robots of today are much too practical. The robots of the future are more sentient, more humanoid, and they are still subject to the vagaries of human kind. Look for the new series from Ed Pipkin. "The Robot Who Cared" on Amazon eBooks. The Magnum Cadet series is still available only from Amazon on the Kindle eBook format. Above was written by the authors son, Ed Pipkin Jr, who writes under the pen name "Leelon Edwards".
