Author, screenwriter-director and visual artist, Gallen majored in Media Studies to then attend film school at NYFA Los Angeles. Her work has been showcased at MoMA PS 1 as part of the New York Art Book Fair, European Culture Congress or the Center for Creative Communications (CCC) in Japan, to name a few. Gallen writes screenplays, creative non-fiction and poetry, and every other moon edits independent artists’ books. Her writing is best known for her first book, El Diablo es una mujer (2021), that restores the myth of the femme fatale. She understands cinema as ritual and writing as excavation, for her work goes beyond storytelling, summoning history, personal experience, and cultural memory. She has lectured at cultural centers La Casa Encendida, Fundación Mapfre or CentroCentro in Madrid and most recently, in Mexico City as part of the Decididas summit.
