In her former life, Elsa Quiñones worked as an eccentric high school history teacher in New York City. After the death of her grandmother, Elsa and her husband moved to Puerto Rico to spend more time with her mother and the rest of her loud, boisterous Puerto Rican family. There, she worked as an elementary ESL teacher by day and secret novelist by night. After the attacks on 9/11, Uncle Sam came calling and her husband was deployed. A year later, they settled near Ft. Bragg, NC, where she experienced both the joys and frustrations of being an Army wife and stay-at-home mom. Throughout the past 13 years, Elsa has worn many hats: middle-school teacher, librarian, home-schooling mom, small business owner and Bible study teacher—just to name a few! Once her children were old enough to (mostly) fend for themselves, she once again picked up her pen and happily immersed herself in the world of research and writing. I Am My Beloved's is Elsa's first Christian novel, the first book in her new Song of Solomon series. When she's not reading or writing, Elsa loves hiking with her kids, cooking (and actually eating what she cooks!), growing her own vegetables, binge-watching History Channel documentaries (yes, that's actually a real word!) and "animated" political conversations with her family and friends. Currently she's enjoying the mild North Carolina weather with her family, her dog Sheba, her rooster Don Fransisco and all 13 of her chickens.
