Against the backdrop of political unrest, widespread terror attacks, and global economic crisis, a powerful threat to the world order has cyberterrorism. Former MIT student Matt O'Shea, a hacktivist turned covert cyber security specialist for the NSA, encounters a government conspiracy after he discovers a malicious code that hacked into his energy company's control systems, disabling power to Washington, D.C. As Matt searches for the code's source and purpose, he finds himself running for his life when he becomes entangled in a U.S. cyberwar with Russia, North Korea, and China-or so he believes. Matt discovers a plan designed to cripple America's utilities and industrial control systems infrastructure that would result in a nationwide blackout of epic proportions. A massive cyberattack threatens the country's safety and security as Matt races to stop the malicious code from causing further destruction, including melting down a nuclear power plant on the East Coast.
