Hi, I’m Enia Oaks. I’m a writer, physician, and lifelong observer of what it means to be human. My work explores inner landscapes—healing, identity, love, grief, reclamation—and the quiet, ordinary moments that make life sacred. My debut book, From a Studio in Oakland, California: 108 Notes on Existence, was written during a season of deep personal transition. It’s a collection of essays and poetic meditations that invites readers back into their own truth—gently, and with clarity. I write from lived experience—burnout and beauty, unraveling and re-creation. If there’s a thread through all my work, it’s this: you are not alone, and your life has always been speaking to you. When I’m not writing, I’m practicing emergency medicine, wandering New York City, or giving quiet thanks for this improbable, beautiful life.
