After being kicked out of his house by his wife, Ryan Brangston leaves his house and drives away from the life he built. While traveling down the dark, icy mountain road, he becomes consumed with his thoughts and emotions. Suddenly, he hits a patch of ice, loses control of his car, and is sent careening off a cliff. As Ryan falls to his death, his life flashes before his eyes. He recalls his most significant memories, both good and bad, and discovers how each of them shaped him into the man he became. School, friends, and home life dominate his thoughts and invoke complex emotions that have challenged him for years. His relationship with his parents tests him the most as he contemplates the childhood they gave him. Memories of people he loved and lost still bring him pain, but not without the joy brought by the people who supported him throughout his life as he grew and changed. In the end, Ryan must decide how he feels about his life and determine whether or not he made the most of the short time he had.
