Cathinca van Sprundel (1989) writes (YA) fantasy, with a historical touch. Residing in Sassenheim in the Netherlands, she works as a copywriter and editor. She studied film, literature and journalism at the University of Leiden. Myths, fairytales and legends are her main inspiration. After writing a thesis about the four branches of the Mabinogion (a collection of welsh myths), she decided to write a novel about it. It resulted in her debut: ‘De vrouwe van Myrdin’, published by Dutch Venture Publishing. A prequel, 'De held van Anwyn' followed and many short stories in collections. Her work is translated in English, German, Chinese, Italian and Turkish. When she doesn’t work or write, Cathinca likes to sing, to play the harp, to dance, and to visit fantasy and renaissance fairs.
