Evelyn Somers has loved stories and cats since before she could read. She holds an MA in creative writing and a PhD in literature. For thirty-seven years she served as associate editor of the acclaimed national literary journal the Missouri Review, where she aided and advocated for writers too numerous to name. As a freelance editor she's edited prizewinning novels and story collections. Her own shorter work has appeared widely in literary journals. When she's not writing or editing or volunteering at a local animal shelter, she currently teaches at the college level in Central Missouri, where she lives with her exceptional cats and other animals.
