Saffron Keller is a recent high school graduate who lives in fear of leaving her mother's old farmhouse. One night, fairies take her to their realm. From the start, they creep her out. But they're also intriguing. Her new friend, Jethin, the vampire, while waiting patiently to destroy her, explains that she has lived all of her past lives with these fairies-once upon a time-they had all been human. Saffron's past lives were full of pain and suffering and Jethin recommends vampirism to her as a means of permanent escape.
