Will Jensen hasn’t seen his childhood best friend, Danny, in seventeen years. He’s thirty years old, recently divorced and out of the closet. When fate reunites him with Danny, there’s a lot to catch up on and bond over. Danny Torsney is an artist and determined to come out to the world. He soon devises a plan to bring Will home as his fake boyfriend to please his ill mother. Will agrees, but soon realizes that it’s not as easy as he thought it would be to convince everyone that they’re a couple. The harder he works at fooling everyone, the more he begins to worry that he’s fooling himself as well. When an ex-boyfriend of Danny’s resurfaces and professes feelings for him, Will has to decide what and who he really wants in life.
