A Killer Duet

2019

Rain Chowden sang about men who had let their women down and strong women making it on their own, so it was no wonder that she’d made a few enemies during her rise to country music stardom. When she’s attacked after a show in Branson, she discovers her head of security hasn’t really been doing his job, and she’s had enough. When Case Trenton offers his services, she can’t resist. But with his deep voice and talented fingers…on the guitar…she’s finding that once this mission is over, she doesn’t want to go back to singing solo. Case “Gibson” Trenton gave up on his dreams of being a singer to go into the military like his father had wanted. When he left the service, he began working for the Brotherhood Protectors and found he didn’t mind working security until a mission went wrong. Now, he’s on leave to clear his mind. Fishing and relaxation in Branson turn into something more when he hears about Rain’s attack, and when he’s the only agent available, he has to take this mission. Case knows something isn’t right. His buddy Johnny Moon runs Treble Security and has been battling a group known as False Music. Have they somehow recruited Rain’s bodyguard and now threaten her safety as well? Or is this just the work of a jilted suitor? When circumstances place him on stage with her he realizes he has a chance to pursue his musical dreams after all. He just better be careful. That first duet is a killer…

A Dangerous Two-Step

2019

When a routine bodyguard job goes south with a musician’s crazy ex-girlfriend and an international group determined to “purify” music, Vicki Holden knows she needs backup and there’s no one better than the Brotherhood Protectors. Her goal is to keep her client safe, and she’ll do whatever it takes, even if it means entering into a dance competition with her sexy new partner. Luis “Uke” Gutierrez transitioned into civilian life after the military and government work. The missions were straight forward and the pay, well it was better. When he flies into Branson, he thinks he’s just backup. But his hands are quickly full with his sexy partner, her “tough guy” client and a group that goes by the name False Music that wants to kill them all. With things heating up both on the job and off, Luis knows when this is all over he’s going to have to choose. But when the feds come with a job opportunity that will keep him with Vicki for a while longer, well it’s just another turn on the dance floor and a two-step that’s anything but safe.

Mary commutes between her dream home near the Mark Twain national forest in Missouri and her current residence in Iowa. She lives with a menagerie of animals including an opinionated horse and a cat who was a dog in past life. When not writing spicy tales of erotic romance, she enjoys writing science fiction and fantasy, spending time with her horse, and enjoying the outdoors. Lucky for her, her partner (hero) shares these same passions, and usually both of them can be found in their respective dens writing. And it’s not far from the truth. Mary began writing in high school after she discovered Silhouette Desire romance novels and realized that she wanted to be the one to write stories that carried readers away from their oh-so-boring lives. She has a deep appreciation and love of the natural, the spirtual, and the metaphysical, which has led to her running Jupiter Gardens and writing for new age and pagan magazines. She is attuned to Reiki II and reads tarot cards. Right now her household includes six cats, ranging in age from less than six months (Tenzin, former feral kitten) to seventeen years (Tigger, diabetic kitty), her horse, two parrots, a finch flight, a geriatric parakeet flight, and her partner, the hero of her own personal romance story. Her favorite television shows are Torchwood, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dr. Who (new), Battlestar Galactica (new), Babylon 5, Farscape, and Sex in the City. Her favorite movies are Spaceballs, The Cutting Edge, Serenity, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, the LoTR trilogy, and probably a few others she’s forgetting. Her musical tastes range from Enya, Clannad, David Arkenstone, David & Steve Gordon, Scott McDonald, and AfroCelt Sound System to Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, and others.
