Everyone expects me to be more broken up about my parents divorce than I actually am, but the thing is, they’re both great people. And now that they don’t live under the same roof, they’re happier people, too, so why would I be upset? It is weird not to have Dad around for our usual pancake breakfast on Father’s Day, though. Dad let Mom have the house, and I still live here too since housing prices are insane. But Dad? He’s staying at my grandpa’s place for a while. Kind of an extra added bonus if you think about it, because that means when I head over there to give Dad his Father’s Day gift, I’ll get to see both of them. Except I show up a little early… surprise! By which I mean the surprise is on me, because I walk in to find Dad on his knees, giving Gramps a Father’s Day gift of his own. And apparently, it’s not the first time. In fact, it turns out it’s kind of like a family tradition…
