تحكي الرواية عن الجنية جُمانة التي تزوجت بالإنسي بحر رغمًا عن أنف عشيرتها من الجن، مندفعةً بعاطفة الحُب مغيبةً العقل والتأني، فيُثمر هذا الزواج طفلًا صغيرًا يحمل بداخله قوة النار التي تنتظر من يحركها بخبرته العتيقة، ولكن جُمانة تعاني الأمرين من هذا الزواج فزوجها يعمل لدى منظمةٍ إجرامية تُخالف المبادئ التي تؤمن بها عائلتها، ويبدو أن سيطرة هذه المنظمة على زوجها لا فكاك منها، فيتم تهديده بأن يتم قتل عائلته إن فكر في التمرد
