Princess Finola and her brother, the King of Dún Lethglaise, have a problem. The Vikings continue to cause trouble in the land, and they have found themselves the custodians of several prisoners. Finola has a kind heart and wants to teach the prisoners the local language, but her brother isn’t so sure. Finally, Finola prevails and in the process, learns the Viking language. In time, she becomes friends with their prisoners, who sign a treaty of alliance with Dún Lethglaise, pledging to protect it. But trouble looms in the form of a rival Viking group, and their allies are forced to fight a fierce battle at sea. When it’s over, debris and ruined ships are strewn upon the shore. While her guards chase down her runaway horse, Finola explores the shoreline. To her horror, she finds a wounded Viking, an enemy. What is she supposed to do now?
