Flower Heart is the first book in the series Forever Laowai. In Flower Heart, follow Michael on a journey across the vast and culturally diverseness that is China. He started with a simple three week trip alone, in search of culture and history. What he found was a land and people that gave him a lust for more. He moved to Beijing to be in the center of the ancient Capitol. He lived amongst the locals, showing a side of Chinese culture that is all but unknown in the West. From there he begins his journey, from hiking the Great Wall, nearly freezing to death along the border of Siberia, to climbing to the top of Fanjingshan Mountain in southern China. He provides details of places, culture and local foods along the way as well as observations, opinions and insights.
