Demons are setting wildfires all across the West, creating a living hell on Earth. I'm Gabriel, the son of a country preacher. Throughout my life, Dad warned me about the horrors of hellfire. I'd thought he was just trying to scare me straight, but when I got caught in a demon-started inferno, I realized he hadn't exaggerated a bit. That is evil at its worst. In fact, demons are lighting wildfires all across the West, taking full advantage of the recent droughts. From personal experience, I can tell you that nothing terrifies someone more than the thought of burning to a crisp. Angels are fighting back against Satan's hordes, but the good guys are badly outnumbered. As their newest apprentice, I'm doing everything possible to help them crush the devil's followers. But can one newbie angel—even with my bright flaming sword—make a difference? Yeah, sure, my new bosses tell me. "Go get 'em, Gabe!" Oh well, I'll no doubt get killed again—this time for keeps. But the demons who roasted me and so many others deserve their reckoning. I'll take plenty of them with me as I go.
