Frederick Albert Cook was an American physician and explorer. He served as physician on both Robert Peary's 1891–1892 Arctic expedition and Adrien de Gerlache's Antarctic expedition of 1897–1899. His claims to have been the first to reach the summit of Denali (aka Mount McKinley) in 1906 and the first to reach the North Pole in 1907 were rejected.
