"I do not think it is a question of where, but when." These were the words Charis, the Prophet, left Christina's mother with when Christina disappeared from Meric... before she was even born. Christina Vaughn has a pretty normal—albeit lonely—life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Until one day she's transported to the fantastical land of Meric. Within her first twenty minutes in this crazy place she's been attacked by man-eating Vaipes, learned her father was a power wielding Guardian, and discovered that the silvery-blue eyes intriguing her for her whole life belong to her Watcher, Shaw. Oh yeah... and she's the prophesied Savior who's supposed to save Meric from a war-mongering tyrant who can manipulate people's thoughts and control their minds. Christina's question isn't where or when... it's how. How can she save the people of Meric when she can't even keep herself from falling in love?

Time matters very little when you're dead. Christina discovered this intriguing fact after being tortured and stabbed to a tree in the strange land of Meric. A place where she experienced the most amazing journey anyone could have ever imagined. Now that she's dead, she finds herself stuck in the past, 1991 to be exact. She's reliving some horribly awkward teenage memories. This adventure through time is almost like that awful dream where you're stuck back in high school, giving a speech, completely naked. Although, luckily for Christina, she has clothes. Maybe it is just a dream. Christina doesn’t know for sure, but there is one thing she desperately needs to find out. Will she ever get back to Meric… get back to Shaw?

Faith… it seems to be revolving around everything I do and it is a hard lesson to learn. I have to have faith that I can save my brother. I have to have faith that my friends scattered all over Meric will survive. I have to have faith that all of Shaw's secrets are coming to an end. I even have to have faith in my own abilities. The evil tyrant Leticia has sent out her dark priest Neamiah to persuade the people of Meric that she is god. The people must take her mark or die. My greatest test of faith lies ahead… I have to prove to the people of Meric that Leticia's claim to lordship is false and that the Creator is the real God.

Charis' latest time paradox has left me staggering. The history of Meric is being unraveled right before my eyes. While some unimaginable questions are being answered, even more start to creep up. Will we make it out of this place alive? Will we make it back to Meric in time to stop Leticia and save our friends? Will I ever marry Shaw, the man of my dreams? I guess only time holds the answers to these questions. Considering I'm not even in my own time, I'm not so sure anymore. One thing I do know is I never would have thought Meric's origins would have been in this place.
