Author G. Gold is a lawyer and a writer. She brings her first hand knowledge of murder investigation and criminal jurisdiction to her novels. At court, she developed a passion for things that are hidden in the dark, the abyss everyone is confronted with when the deepest layers of one’s soul are uncovered. It’s reflected in her writing. Her dedication to depict interpersonal relationships, in all their facets, results in thrilling stories that won’t be easy to forget. An avid reader, she was hooked on crime stories as a youngster, before turning to mystery and thriller series. Her favorite authors include Tess Geritson (US), John Irving (US), Val McDermot (UK), Jussi Adler (Denmark), Stieg Larson (Sweden) and Camilla Läckberg (Sweden). HOW DARE YOU – DEADLY DECEMBER is her debut thriller novel and the first in a series about Detective Jean Marnaud and Sara Manzini. Statement from G. Gold Dear Reader I’m so happy that you’ve discovered my book and that you are interested in my craft of writing. I didn’t write this book for myself, but instead for you – the reader. HOW DARE YOU – DEADLY DECEMBER is just the beginning of my Thriller/Mystery series, a collection of novels that stray from the path of the ordinary. It was my intent to break the classical distinction between the “good” guy and the “bad” guy. As such, the characters you find in my novels make decisions based on their surroundings, personal experiences and inner wants and desires. This often leads them to act in morally gray zones, a gray that at times is so dark, you might call it pitch black. You won’t find aloof serial killer masterminds who chop their victims into tiny pieces via crazy, perfidious tactics in this series. What happens in these books could very well happen at your neighbor’s house. The harm that’s been done didn’t come from some outside force – it was there to begin with. Blood ties are fettering and cannot be escaped, feeding to one’s decay. But family is not only the root of evil, it is also quintessential for life. It protects us and keeps us together. It is the one thing that makes survival even possible. With the turning of the first page, you’ll dive into this world! To this extent, it was important to me to write in a fluid, easy to read style that allows the reader to immerse themselves in the story, morally uninhibited, feeling and experiencing everything as the characters do. Because the ending, to a certain extent, can be seen as taboo, I’d like to draw your attention to the warning at the beginning of the book: Traditional moral concepts don’t apply! (Consider this an official warning.) Detectives can be corrupted! (Even the best of them.) Happy endings depend on your point of view! (When the right thing seems wrong, the wrong thing may not be right either.) One thing I can guarantee – you won’t get bored! Please let me know how you liked my novel! I look forward to your response! Wishing you a wonderful reading experience, G. Gold
