Genie for A Biff Andromeda Mystery is a private eye novel with a paranormal, urban fantasy twist. Biff is an ancient genie in a buff body, working as a private investigator in a twenty-first century Miami suburb. He uses his magical powers to investigate a case that begins with a set of missing negatives, and morphs into something much more deadly, especially when he realizes that the dangerous female genie he has loved and lost over centuries has become involved. Photographer Sveta Pshkov has a problem. She took a series of boudoir photos of a young Russian woman, believing the woman wanted them for her husband. When her workroom is burglarized and the negatives stolen, she comes to Biff’s agency, down the hall from her studio. Unable to resist a damsel in distress, Biff takes the case. He discovers, however, that the woman is dead, and her husband, a Russian mobster, is missing. Aided by a squirrel named Raki, a sylph who manifests as a white butterfly, and the alluring and dangerous woman of his dreams, Biff struggles against ancient demons and modern monsters. With his keen sense of smell, his ability to turn into a wisp of vapor, and his sarcastic wit, Biff battles his romantic obsession and a pack of ruthless criminals to bring this case to a satisfying conclusion.
Author

I have been a voracious reader all my life, mostly in mystery, romance, and science fiction/fantasy, though a college degree in English did push a lot of literary works into my list of favorites. I began writing seriously in high school after an inspiring assignment with A Separate Peace by John Knowles. But it took getting an MFA in creative writing to kick-start my career. Since then I've written dozens of books, won a couple of treasured awards, and enjoyed the support of readers. I hope you'll visit my website, where you can sign up for my occasional newsletter, and also follow my author page on Facebook, https://www.facebook.com/neil.plakcy. I love writing cozy mysteries as well as gay mysteries, M/M romance and gay erotica. My golden retriever mysteries were inspired by my own goldens, Samwise, Brody and Griffin, who continually give me ideas for new books.
