Geoff is the author of A Basket of Leaves: 99 Books That Capture the Spirit of Africa (2007) and the editor of African Lives: An Anthology of Memoirs and Autobiographies (2013), Thoreau's Wildflowers, (2016) and Thoreau's Animals (2017). Geoff's work also appears in the Christian Science Monitor, Warscapes, The Quarterly Conversation, and Words Without Borders. Geoff was born and raised in upstate New York, and earned a degree in English and American literature and language from Harvard University.
