Grace Kitto is a first time author. A seasoned TV producer, she has spent many years writing television proposals, treatments and voice-overs, all the while hankering to be a ‘real’ writer. What finally prompted her to begin was her own story of successful weight loss after 45 years of failed dieting. Six stone overweight and clinically obese, she had been on a sure path to Type 2 diabetes when she realised she needed a radical rethink to tackle the problem. So she had one. Sparked by an epiphany moment involving an ice cream in a car park on Dartmoor, she launched her own private research programme into the causes and solutions to obesity. It took her three years of slow dieting to reach a healthy weight. This is her funny and moving account of how she did it. The first draft of Saving Grace won the Mslexia Memoir Competition in 2015.
