HLR (she/her) is a prize-winning poet, writer and editor from North London, U.K. Her debut full-length poetry collection History of Present Complaint (First Cut Poetry, 2021) was longlisted in the Poetry Book Awards 2022. Her new poetry pamphlet EX-CETERA was published by Nine Pens in September 2023. She is also the author of micro-chapbook Portrait of the Poet of a Hot Mess (Ghost City Press, 2021). HLR is a commended winner of the National Poetry Competition 2021, won the Desmond O'Grady International Poetry Competition 2021 and was a winner of the Cambridge Prize for Flash Fiction in 2020. Her poetry has been shortlisted for the Bridport Prize and the Aesthetica Creative Writing Award in 2023, and longlisted in the Plough Prize and Mslexia Poetry Competition 2022. She holds a BA Hons in English Literature from Royal Holloway, University of London.
