Heather Babcock’s debut novel Filthy Sugar was published by Inanna Publications in 2020. She has had short fiction published in Descant Magazine, The Toronto Quarterly, Front&Centre magazine, The Annex Echo newspaper and in GULCH: An Assemblage of Poetry and Prose, among many others. Her short story collection, Of Being Underground and Moving Backwards, was published in 2015 by DevilHousePress. She has performed at Hot Sauced Words, Lizzie Violet's Cabaret Noir, The Beautiful & The Damned, The Plasticine Poetry series, The Poetry Salon at Urban Gallery and has appeared as both a guest and a performer on the spoken word radio show "HOWL" on CIUT 89.5FM. In 2022, Heather Babcock was the lunchtime seminar speaker at the 29th Vintage Film Festival held at the beautiful Capitol Theatre in Port Hope. She spoke on the topic of "Dangerous Dames: Celebrating the Women of Pre-Code Gangster Movies." Babcock is also a co-founder of two event series: “The Redhead Revue” and “I Got You, Babe: An Evening of Music and Poetry”. She writes about vintage fashion, silent and classic movies and 1930’s pop culture on her Word Press blog “Meet Me at the Soda Fountain”. Heather Babcock is a member of the Writers' Union of Canada.
