Heather Garside grew up on a cattle property in Central Queensland and now lives with her husband and son on a beef and grain farm in the same area. She has previously published three historical romances, one of which, The Cornstalk, was a finalist in the 2008 Bookseller's Best Award. Heather has also helped to write and produce several compilations of short stories and local histories. Her latest novel is Breakaway Creek, a rural romance. It was a finalist in the QWC/Hachette Manuscript Deveopment Award and is published by Clan Destine Press. Tracks of the Heart, a collection of three short stories, has also been released by Clan Destine Press.
