Heather Ream is used to being the most sensitive person in the room. Like when the girl standing beside her in the church play refused to hold her hand and Heather ran off the stage, crying. Or the time Heather’s teacher accused her of being disrespectful (which was true), and Heather ran out of homeroom, crying. And let’s not forget that when Heather won the school spelling bee, she ran out of the auditorium…crying. Luckily, she grew up and discovered that there are a bunch of folks built just like her. They even have a name - highly sensitive people. Heather also discovered that the trait of high sensitivity colors her world in all sorts of powerful ways. HSPs are said to be creative. Conscientious. Exceptionally empathetic. As a result, she uses these gifts to write about her life experience in compelling ways. She is the author of "Lunchladies Bought My Prom Dress" and "Fatulous." She presents the case that even our worst trials can yield beautiful outcomes. Heather is a progressive Christian and the proud owner of a twangy Appalachian accent. She lives with her husband and a delusional amount of optimism in Knoxville, TN.
