Maria Kane and Kai Davidson are arranged to get married and for the sake of their parents, a promise made by their fathers years ago, they agree to the match. The arrangement was made between business partners and close friends; but tragedy struck and Maria’s parents were lost. A few years later, Davidson makes a move to fulfill his promise to his deceased business partner. Maria and Kai have objections to the marriage, as they find the reason for the marriage ridiculous. A wedding in a week? Fall in love in a week? Those concerns cease though, because it turns out they’ve met before. This book starts in the same place as the last one, except it’s from Kai’s perspective. The stories share three scenes, only this time we see what Kai was thinking.
