Jadiya Lumberton lost three years of her life when she went to prison for transporting her boyfriend, Mane's drugs. Jadiya wasn't forced to do what she did, so despite having a thirteen year old daughter, she didn't fold. Jadiya did her time without ever mentioning Mane or his drug operation and the thanks she got was him moving on with another woman. Jadiya comes home determined to get her life back on track and to make up for lost time with her child. Her best friend Yo Yo puts her on to a fast way to make legal money, and Jadiya is all in. Her first run in with local bad boy Santana Marlow isn't a pleasant one, and none of Jadiya's thoughts about him are good. Without him even really trying, Santana soon becomes her saving grace, but the last thing she needs is to become attached to a cocky, borderline ignorant, dope boy that's used to having women submit to him off his name alone. Santana had a hard time adjusting to life in the states after he moved from Paris as a teenager. He wasn't the cutest or the best dressed, and he was picked on because of his accent. It didn't take Santana long to boss up and soon, the same ones that used to give him a hard time were jocking him heavy. His poor attitude and lack of respect never stopped him from getting anything he wanted. Except Jadiya. At first, working for her wasn't even an option. Until Santana realized she was different. He never met a woman like Jadiya, and it had him ready to do things he'd never done before but with all the dirt he'd done in the streets, will he get what he's working towards or will karma decide that a happily ever after wasn't written in the books for him?
