The most common reaction of investors to an economic crisis and the market crash that follows, is panic. The crash in global stock markets during the Covid-19 crisis saw a similar script play out. In this handbook, we elaborate the investment process of Marcellus Investment Mangers, and emphasize on the techniques that have helped our portfolios navigate through tough markets and a crisis. We hope investors find value in these chapters and can take inputs to build their portfolios that survive future crises and keep compounding wealth for them through bad times as well good. All royalty receipts from this book will be donated to The Jai Vakeel Foundation ( – one of India’s oldest and largest non-profits serving children and adults with Intellectual Developmental Disabilities (IDD). Marcellus is privileged to contribute to an organisation that works with the most vulnerable. One in every 50 Indians - over 26 million individuals have IDD. In spite of this colossal figure, we as a society, still remain largely unaware of this space, and are unable to actively address the needs of the individuals. Jai Vakeel is one of the only organisations that has no minimum IQ requirement and till date no one has been turned away for their inability to afford their services. CoVID 19 has been disruptive to all families, but the effects of school closures, medical equipment shortages & social distancing are further amplified for families of children with disabilities. They have provided ration kits & medicines for their most vulnerable. They have created a resource bank of over 140 videos that will cater to different levels of functioning. They have distributed smart phones, recharged numbers, and started online schooling for over 700 of their students. Over 160 students have received therapy online. The team is finding new ways to function and adapt to deliver to their families. The how may feel different but the mission is still the same.
